Canna ‘South Pacific Scarlet’

This canna ‘South Pacific Scarlet’ adds a distinctive exotic touch to the garden, with its scarlet tropical flower 10 cm (4 in.) in diameter. The main thing that sets this spectacularly flowering canna apart from its congeners is that it is the first F1 hybrid from seed. This makes it a robust plant that blooms throughout the summer.

Canna ‘South Pacific Scarlet’ flowers a week earlier than other cannas on the market, lasts longer and develops good basal branching. This tropical plant reaches heights of around 60 cm (2 ft.) in containers and around 1 to 1.2 m (3 to 4 ft.) in beds. The Japanese company Takii has obtained this new canna.
