Alocasia sarawakensis ‘Yucatan Queen’

The Yucatan Princess now has a partner in the MasqueradeTM series, the Yucatan Queen. This alocase has a very bushy habit, especially when grown in containers. The very shiny, metallic leaves of this alocase are tinted hunter green, a deep, elegant dark-green color. As the leaves unfurl, they take on a nuanced shade of chocolate purple. The leaves are also wavy and contrast well with the cream-colored stems, which are speckled with blackish purple. The plant can reach 80 to 90 cm in height.
